If you give a bum some money, where do you think it goes? To his bank account? For food? Beer? All fine questions, but it doesn't really matter. What truly matters is if it is appreciated. If they want to go spend the money on a 40, so be it. In fact, that is probably the most economic use for a couple bucks these days. The real reason I bring this up is because I have quite frankly lost my tolerance and sympathy towards homeless people. Sounds cold, but its the truth. Every time I have money in my pocket, I gave it to them. But just recently this one bum decided to to curse me out after giving him only a dollar. Most people should be grateful if someone gives them a dollar, but not this guy. This guy was under the impression that all his hard work during the day deserved more money than the dollar I had to give. So I think for the next day or two, I may need to rethink who I give money to and who I dont. And now I wonder how he would've reacted if I only gave a quarter? I think the qualifications for giving money should be narrowed to one that is truly desperate, or just really funny and worthy or it. And for you, dude who got angry for getting a dollar, maybe start asking for a hug.
