Im in college. I have roommates. Theyre great sometimes, and other times I need my space. Most times I try to avoid confrontation, like most but recently I think it would be better to apply the Charlie Murphy approach. Without getting into specifics, sometimes a roommate just needs a punch in the face. I really think thats the only way to prevent a habitual line crosser. You can only be nice for so long, until you just realize that when they mess with your world, you need to mess with their world. An eye for an eye approach seems somewhat primitive, but maybe its just time to bring it back to the old school way of interacting. I think this only applies to a same-sex roomate, however, and after the habitual line crosser fails to change his ways....

Change?

After I watched Obama give his inaugural speech, I was hopeful for this new "change" that is coming. I agree. Change is needed. Change is needed from us all. Many supporters, however, seem to think that the change has already happened (having a black male as president) and that the change will come from him. This is the ignorance that horrifies me. Honestly, how on earth can you make a t-shirt idolizing Obama and swear by him, if you yourself cannot comprehend that the change that is needed is out of you? Obama declares that we have basically been a lazy and unproductive group of americans, and indeed change is needed from us all. He is good at motivating a crowd and promising new achievements, but he alone cannot do it. To this woman in the video, and the rest of the supporters who believe he will allow them to continue to be lazy, roll up your sleeves and start working because im not paying for your gas.
